Below is a comprehensive list of programs the Club offers to teens ages 13-18 along with the special events and programs which can be accessed through the link on the left.
Keystoning is the Boys & Girls Club Movement’s most dynamic teen program. Keystone Clubs are chartered leadership and service clubs geared for teens ages 15-18. Keystoners elect officers and implement activities in six areas: service to Club and community, character and leadership development, education and career exploration, unity, free enterprise and social recreation. This small group leadership program helps our teens become more productive citizens and leaders in our community.
A leadership group intended to help recent graduates with the transition from member to supporter of the Boys & Girls Club. This group hosts social activities and special events to current teen members and assists with fundraising for special events. Participants are eligible to be a part of this group once they graduate high school and reach the age of 19.
CLUBService provides education awards to Club members and alumni ages 17-24, who serve their Clubs and communities. CLUBService recognizes young people’s service, helps them access higher education opportunities and encourages them to pursue future careers as Club professionals. CLUBService is made possible through a partnership between Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Corporation for National and Community Service (AmeriCorps).
A nationally chartered small group leadership and service club program geared to help pre-teens become more involved with teen activities to aid in their transition into the teen program. Change in Action is a very powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their development. Change in Action members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas: service to club and community, education, health and fitness and social recreation.
A comprehensive, group club program that explore careers in youth and human services, particularly in the Boys & Girls Clubs. Through participation in Junior Staff, teens will develop interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and a sense of community engagement while experiencing on-the-job Club work. Power Hour Through this program our teens be more successful in school by providing homework help and tutoring and encouraging members to become self-directed learners. SMART Moves
Two additional components of SMART Moves are... SMART Girls - A small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of 13-18. Through sessions, highly participatory activities, and mentoring opportunities, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults. Passport to Manhood - This program promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 13-15. Passport to Manhood consists of 14 sessions, each of which concentrates on a specific aspect of manhood through highly interactive activities. Each Club participant receives his own “passport” to underscore the notion that he is on a personal journey of maturation and growth. Passport to Manhood represents a targeted effort to engage young boys in discussions activities that reinforce positive behavior. Passport to Manhood is a complement to SMART Girls.
A national program that focuses on photography as both and art form and as a potential career choice. Teens learn to capture the moments of club programs, special events and daily activities. Sports Club Teen leadership group in the Boys & Girls Clubs that promote physical fitness, healthy eating habits, self-esteem and improved ability to interact positively with peers.
